School holidays in Sydney have officially started so there is no excuse to stay inside when the city is teeming with an array of things to do and see this weekend. From pop-up events at the famous Paddy’s Markets to an educational Indigenous workshop at Barangaroo, there’s oodles to see and do that will ensure you get the best out of your weekend in Sydney.
Paddy's Market Pop-ups
This Sunday 8 July marks the final day of the Paddy’s Markets pop-up stalls that have been wowing crowds all month. Each week showcasing a different theme, this weekend’s vendors will be highlighting the Fabulous Foodie edition. There’ll be edible offerings across three zones of the market, including baked creations from Zumbo, creative candied fruits from Love Dem Apples and a stall dedicated to dessert by N2 Gelato.

Precinct 75 Winter Design Fair
Calling all makers and collectors, the Precinct 75 Winter Design Fair gives you the chance to show off your creations for one day only. In collaboration with greenthumbs from the Jungle Plant Collective and culinary masters at the Foodies and Farmers Markets, the design fair will set up stalls at Precinct 75 in St Peters on Saturday 7 July offering homewares, ceramics, kids’ items and a burst of fresh flowers and greenery.

Women of Craft: NAIDOC at Barangaroo
A day-long event at Barangaroo, which has been a gathering place for Aboriginal clans for thousands of years, Barangaroo's Stargazer Lawn will be celebrating the significant contributions of Australia's First Nations women with Women of Craft for a day of free activities. From 10am to 5pm on Sunday July 8 the reserve will host a series of events demonstrating the knowledge of First Nations women, allowing guests to take part in craft workshops, cooking demonstrations, and activities for kids.

Chocolate Week Masterclass
Who doesn’t love chocolate, honestly? Celebrate one of life’s greatest pleasures with a chocolate masterclass at 12-Micron where you will participate in hands-on chocolate demonstrations with matching wine and cocktails. Chef Justin Wise and head pastry chef Ashley Smith will be serving pepperberry crusted wallaby carpaccio, rosella, raspberry, and chocolate oil to begin, followed by rabbit assiette with truffle and chocolate. Then just wait till course three, where dessert kicks in.

Skating at Cathedral Square
Continuing through July, and especially for the school holidays, punters can get their ice skates on for a spin around the famous open-air ice rink at the forecourt of St Mary’s Cathedral. During the day you'll skate under the Sydney winter sunshine, but the evenings will be illuminated with a colourful glow. Keep hearts and hands warm with a hot chocolate or savoury snack from one of the food vendors throughout your skating session.
