Are you staying at InterContinental Sydney during Vivid?

The Sydney Life
The Eventful Life

With Vivid Sydney illuminating the city from 25th May to 16th June, we will step into one of the most mesmerising events in the world. In preparation for Vivid Sydney, we would like to provide you with some key information regarding road closures over this period. For those staying at InterContinental Sydney during Vivid, Transport for New South Wales have introduced the following changes to ensure that visits for Vivid will be able to access the sights and attractions safely and with ease.

  • On Friday (25, May, 1,8, 15 June) Phillip and Macquarie Street will be closed from 5.00pm until Midnight which will mean that access to the hotel will be via the pedestrian entrance on the corner of Phillip and Bridge Street. Due to these road closures, the hotel carpark and driveway will not be accessible.
  • For Saturday & Sunday 26th & 27th May, Saturday & Sunday 2nd, 3rd June, Saturday & Sunday 9th, 10th June, and Monday 11th June & Saturday 16th June – Phillip and Macquarie St will be closed from 5.00pm till Midnight which again will mean that the hotel carpark and driveway will not be accessible and guests will need to enter the hotel via the pedestrian entrance on the corner of Phillip & Bridge Street.
  • During closures in Circular Quay on Friday-Sunday nights, buses will operate to and from Martin Place instead. Trains will not stop at Circular Quay Station from 5pm-11pm on Saturday nights & Sunday of the long weekend due to large crowds.

Please be aware that if you plan to drive to the hotel and arrive or depart after the specified road closures, the hotel will be unable to valet park your car. In line with the recommendation from Transport New South Wales, we recommend that guests who in particularly plan on arriving or departing during these specified times use public transport for their convenience. It is also important to note that taxis and alternative transport arrangements will be affected by the road closures, so we encourage allowances in travel time and to expect delays.

For your convenience we have attached maps outlining the various road closures which can be accessed here.
